Along with its transition to Intel processors, Apple Computer in the first half of next year will introduce new eye-catching industrial designs for both of its laptop offerings, AppleInsider has learned.
AppleInsider reports that although Steve Jobs said that their first Intel based computers will be released in 2006 it may be much sooner. With the start of the transition to Intel last month, “all five of Apple’s Intel Macintosh projects are now said to be underway and moving at an exhaustive, yet fruitful pace. It should come as no surprise that Apple chief executive Steve Jobs is reportedly leading the charge, with his heart set on making 2006 the next 1984.“. For all who don’t know, 1984 was the year when Apple introduced their first Macintosh. AppleInsider says that Apple plans to introduce the much awaited widescreen iBook for what seems to be a 13 inch screen. But it is still unknown whether the other iBook models will follow suit, or whether they will keep the existing 4:3 scren ratio. But debuting earlier than the iBooks will be the PowerBooks (I want one sooo much) which will be thinner by around 20-25% than the current PowerBooks and will contain the inbuilt iSight much like the new iMac G5. The fun new application called PhotoBooth, will also be included with the PoweBooks. PhotoBooth is a cool app you can use to take photos with the built in iSight in the new iMac. There are lots of different effects and frames you can add on. Apple called it the “funnest app we’ve ever written“.
As of the transition to Intel based Macs, sources also told AppleInsider that Apple plans to be one of the first companies to introduce Intel’s dual core processors. Now those G5’s will be even faster, but how much faster can they get. It is the world’s most fastest personal computer.
