A 44-year-old German businessman whose digital camera was stolen at a restaurant was relieved when he managed to buy exactly the same model on the eBay Internet auction site to match his accessories.
But he became suspicious when it emerged the seller came from his home town. It proved to be the same camera.

This is my first How to guide so please bear with me, it is not all upto scratch. After seeing on Xbox 360 fanboy a solution to stream music and photos to a 360 from a Mac (and Linux and Windows) I thought ‘why not?’ So I took some photos and put together this guide in helping others. This uses TwonkyVision’s UPnP MediaServer software, which is not free. However they have a trial version that terminates after 30 mins. So if you can’t cough up the cash then just start up the server again after 30 mins, or better yet have Automator do it for you.

This is a good comparison to show you the sizes of each consoles. If these are actually right then the PS3 isn’t as big as everyone makes it out to be, or how big it looks. Looks to me that people make a lot of false assumptions about the sizes of the consoles before they are released. For example the 360 isn’t that much smaller than the original Xbox but its design makes it look smaller than it really is. No wonder why the PS3 looks so big in the images. Just look at the size of the Revolution, if it is that small, I will be amazed. But I will also buy one if I can afford it (hopefully it will be quite cheap).

A passenger toting an Xbox 360 in a carry-on case sparked a terror alert at MacArthur Airport on Long Island yesterday, forcing a terminal to be evacuated. Officials say the Chicago-bound flier, worried that his game console might be swiped if he checked it, instead put it in a metal case that he carried through security checkpoints. At 12:15 p.m., the container passed through an X-ray machine, and screeners thought it might have held a bomb.
“The package looked to be suspicious with wires running through it,” said airport spokeswoman Michele Remsen. Officials evacuated the west wing and called in the bomb squad. Officers examined the case and deemed it harmless.
Airport worker Kimberley Edwards, 17, who’d been on the job for just three days, said the incident was “frightening.”
“Of course I thought it was a terrorist threat,“she said. [NY Post]
I used BugMeNot to login to get the full NY Post article which I have put above. I have one thing to say — oh my god!

This is a cool Flickr slideshow showing you the insides and outsides of the Xbox Lounge in Tokyo. Cool place is you ask me, but Microsoft only launched it as a publicity event for the Xbox 360, as the original Xbox wasn’t popular and Microsoft wanted to get some ground. But there are still loads of unsold 360′s floating about in Japan with various offers and low low prices. Interestingly though, Microsoft built this place and had it decked out with a mini shop, bar and 360′s, but it is closing in just over 2 weeks on 15th January. I don’t see why they don’t make a place like this in the US or the UK as it would be hugely popular and they would gain quite a lot of money (unlike the apparent price to make a 360 being $715). I see why they would do it, but why spend the money to keep it open for a month? There really is no point, it is plain stupid.

Here it is with the Hard Drive out for the first time
My brother Justin loved his 20 gig 4th generation ipod until he dropped it at the gym one day. It stopped working all together and would make clicking noises when he would try to start it. He had gotten it as a gift and didnt have the reciept for it, so he couldnt take it back unter warrenty I guess. Apple said that it would cost $250 to fix. Instead of fixing it, he spend the money on a 30 gig 5th generation. I asked him for the broken ipod so I could tinker with it. After I got it from him, I decided that it would be cool to own an ipod, and that if i could fix it for less then the retail price, I would be a head of the game. I documented my adventure of trying to fix my ipod, check it out.
Josh used the ultra ghetto method of a screwdriver to open up the case. I think he had a good idea, and that many people may have suffered this problem. It is ridiculous that Apple charges so much for something that small. The battery replacement is also expensive like this. It just goes to show anyone with a bit of luck and courage can fix their ‘broken’ iPod without paying loads of £££ to Apple. If my iPod breaks like this after the warranty has expired I wouldn’t mind doing this, but not with a screwdriver, as I really don’t want to throw my money away to get it fixed when a 5G iPod’s price is so close to it.

This is a pretty cool video of the iPod nano playing a video through the iPod linux project. Though it is impressive to see this happen, there is no point of watching anything on that 1 inch screen. Links to Google Video. [digg]
When billionaire adventurer Steve Fossett broke the record for around-the-world solo jet flight last March, he slept just 60 minutes in 67 hours of flight time — 60 minutes broken into two- and three-minute naps. “I slept when I needed it and awoke refreshed,” he says. Fossett, who holds world records in ballooning, sailing, and flying, adds that none of his feats could have been done without these micro-variety “power naps.”
So what makes a power nap effective? Think of it as an investment with the greatest return in the least amount of time, a kind of super-efficient sleep that fits nicely in a high-pressure schedule: say, between business meetings or in the minutes before a game.
According to cdrinfo.com, a mod chip for the Xbox 360 is likely to show up “within weeks.” They go on to say that a “member of a hacker group” implied that they will be done making the first mod chip in a couple of weeks.
“Everyone of us is endeavoring to develop a mod chip with complete functions. With the chip, gamers will access all functions of Xbox360. We think the chip will be available at market in a couple of weeks. But as the first attempt, the first batch of chips may be complex and they may not function very well.“
This should probably scare Microsoft. I can’t believe that they have already cracked the 360 when it has been out for only a month. They sure work fast. But as it states, it will probably require a lot of hardware modding to get it to do something, but at least they have made some progress. I am all for this as I would like to see Macs be able to stream music and videos to the 360. It is possible, Microsoft just won’t allow it on purpose and is trying not to let anyone do it.

After playing myself silly hours on end I took some photos to share with you. The photo above shows the 360 with the faceplate and the wireless controller. Looks cool, eh? Click on for some more photos or click here to see the entire photoset on Flickr. I’ll be posting some of the good and bad points of the 360 soon. Check back later.
