Microsoft employees moan about IE

With Microsoft dropping IE for Mac and Dell bundling Firefox in its PC’s for the UK Microsoft’s IE is going down the hole. IE 7 has tons of features that every modern day browser has and even Microsoft’s own employees are sick to death of it.
Microsoft employee Rory Blyth:
“I think IE is horribly behind the times. When every other browser on the planet that’s worth a damn supports tabbed browsing, it’s just crappy that I still have to have different copies of IE open to have multiple sites open at once. As of right now, my favorite browser on the planet is Apple’s Safari.”
Windows Live developer and creator of RSS Bandit, Dare Obsasanjo laments:
We haven’t innovated in the browser for almost a decade. Given that Microsoft views IE as a defensive option to make Windows an enticing product, there is less incentive to make it the ultimate browsing experience as products whose bread and butter is the Web browser. Why do you think there are so many Google employees working on Mozilla?
I couldn’t agree more. An IE update is certainly due, and apparently IE 7 will only be fr Vista. If Microsoft keeps this up then IE and Windows will be loosing a lot of market share. I know that for the Windows PC’s in our house, not one of them is going to get Vista. It just has to high requirements and quite frankly it is just not worth it anymore.
If Microsoft released IE to the public, even in a BETA, it would certainly be better and they would have a greater chance of keeping their market share. A lot of BETA testers say it is an improvement, but it still has its problems. Microsoft really needs to get their act together.
