This is really cool collection of photos that are taken by a Nikon D100 digital camera. They must have used an incredibly high shutter speed to capture something like this. There are other photos as well, such as a small wood pole. They are really amazing!

There are a few photos on a CNET post that show the inside of the before mentioned Xbox 360 car called the ‘Urge’. I don’t know why Nissan planned such a thing, it is really strange. It is obviously not playable from the driver’s position (unless in a parked position), however it is still interesting of why? The screen seems a bit too small for HD gaming, or gaming at all from the likes of those seats.
Players can use the car’s own controls, including steering wheel and pedals, to drive the on-screen action, which can be viewed on a small LCD that flips down from the roof.
But why would you need to simulate driving if you are already in a car. Ok, maybe it is more comfortable, but would you arrive at work 10 mins early just so you can play Project Gotham Racing 3 or Need for Speed: Most Wanted? The design of the car itself isn’t too bad, but I presonally don’t like the colours.
I think it will probably remain a ‘concept’ car and not go into production (or only a few would be made for the rich).
About 2 weeks ago, I wrote an article about hard disk recovery that was quite popular (I received approximately 20000 hits for it). The article covered a couple of solutions to help you in the case where your hard drive would stop working. While I was doing some research for this article, I ended up on a few stories about people who were putting their HD in the freezer to help fix it long enough to be able to recover their data. I guess that by doing this, some metal parts in the HD could contract, putting back in place defective parts, and making everything work again for a few minutes.
kay i was messing around with the efi loader, and i put vista dvd files/folders on a removable drive (usb). i then got to the “boot from file” selection on the boot loader and navigates to the vista cdrom.efi file on the drive. i hit enter andi got a boot screen! i took pics and i’ll put them up in a moment!
I was expecting it to take a little while longer, but wow! So you can nearly install Vista onto the Intel iMac. So what’s the problem? Well it isn’t the CD it boots from, but a USB Flash drive with the files from the CD on. The screen says “press enter to boot from CD” but it does nothing because there is no CD inside. Well progress has been made! Let’s see what is to come…
Lightbulb uses a special bulb, inside which magnets and circuitry are hidden. Using a magnetic hall effect sensor, an electromagnet, and a [modified] PD feedback system, it floats a lightbulb stably in the air, while power is transmitted wirelessly from the base of the sculpture into the bulb. LEDs in the bulb rectify this AC power and convert it to light. The power transfer functions very similarly to how radio station tuning works and requires a well tuned matched pair of resonant windings, but allows power transmission over through the air.

We saw earlier this week that Nintendo didn’t announce another version of the DS like it was speculated. This is a really cool mockup of what the revised DS could look like. I would buy this in a heartbeat if this was real. It just seems really pocket sized and perfect. Looks like it was based upon the Gameboy Advance SP. Plus it can play your old GBA games!
You can find more mockups here, some cool ones too!

Microsoft may not offer an external Blu-ray Disc drive for the Xbox 360 after all. The software giant this week said it remains “fully committed” to HD DVD and has “absolutely no plans to support other optical formats”.
So no Blu-ray then. I kind of thought this in the beginning. Why would Microsoft support Blu-ray as wel when Microsoft is clearly backing up HD-DVD. It made no sense to me and there would be no real reason. It would just confuse people if there were 3 types of Xbox 360 media. It would make people not want to buy games.
Given that virtually all laptops have one of those standard (and not exactly secure) Kensington locking ports built in, we’re not sure why someone would go to the trouble to replicate that functionality using one of the computer’s USB ports. But that’s the idea behind the USB Port Security Lock, which apparently latches onto the inside of your USB port when a key is turned. We suspect that this has got to cause at least some damage to the USB port, and we already know it can’t be incredibly secure, so we assume that the real reason this is on the market is so that the developers can sell them to gullible customers who will then leave their laptops lying around [Engadget]
Since I buy burnable media in bulk I usally have lots of unprotected discs lying around. One of my housemates suggested using an origami CD Case. The first thing I found on Google was a set of instructions made by a guy named Tom Hull. I have mirrored these instructions HERE.
