I knew that cables ran under the sea for countries across seas (how else could you access a website hosted in the US from the UK?), but I never knew how much was actually in use. Well this image certainly shows how much the UK connects to American sites and visa versa! Pretty cool, eh?
This blog is hosted by a UK company, however from the tools I have used it seems to be that the server is located in the US. I have no idea why this maybe, but it may not be true. If a company ‘buys’ a list of IP addresses it could effectively place it in any country, and the IP would show where it is registered to.
