Meet the Nintendo Wii (aka the Revolution)
Published April 27th, 2006 in Gaming, Noteworthy, Technology
Nintendo has publicily revealed the name for their new console (the Revolution): Wii. Prounounced ‘we‘. Forget Revolution and Go: wii is the answer.
Wii sounds like “we”, which emphasizes that the console is for everyone.
Wii has a distinctive “ii” spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play.
It’s about Wii, and together Wii will change everything
I have to hand it to Nintendo, they have some pretty crazy people there, but their ideas are truly unique (and fascinating). I think it sounds pretty cool, but it will take some time getting used to. Now that that is over, we have to wait until E3 for the rest of the deets.

Well Balazs you were there when I first read it and I was horrified and lost all my fanboy love for Nintendo.
However
I must admit the name is growing on me, and now I think it is cool. However now we must break through the immature ones who larf, and poke fun.
This name may actually be a very good idea.
Goodbye, yes you can be hot on, Wii is not funny but actualy really cool!
I tried wii and revolution like japanese console girl with mario, it is really ok. he is small yes, but it not really gay like Nintendo.
how much is the new nintendo in the uk
There is no official price announced for the UK or for the rest of the world. But people speculate that it will be between $200 - $250. That would make it between £98 - £123, but UK prices would be higher because of VAT and whatnot so I would guestimate a price of £150.
