InvisibleShield: Review [update]

invisibleshield

The guys over at Shieldzone.com were nice enough to send me their InvisibleShield product for free (I am disclosing this now so I don’t get any flack!) for reviewing and testing purposes. I will go through the steps of installing the shield onto your product and update it as I experience the real life use of it. I will be using this for my Canon PowerShot A540 camera that I bought back in April.
Just as a quick side note: I used the camera to take photos of the beautiful views in Italy, however somewhere at the airport the slide switch to switch between viewing pictures and taking photos got broken. This is really annoying as not only do I have a prom to go to in a week and a half, but after that it’s the summer holidays. I doubt that Canon can fix it that quick, and they won’t even let me talk to them by email, only phone! :( ! Read on for the full review.

Going on holiday

I am going on a school holiday (residential as we call it) to Italy for a week, and coming back next Friday, so I’m afriad there won’t be any news until then. The weather should be quite hot so I hope I am going to enjoy myself. The worst part: I have to wake up at around 2:30AM as we are leaving from the school at 3AM. I will try to get as much sleep as possible, because once we are on the plane, I can’t really fall asleep (I don’t know why, I just can’t!)
So see you all, and I will be back in a week, with the latest gaming and tech news!

The Wii’s sensor revealed, sort of!

wii sensor

Nintendo are going on a travelling tour demo-ing the Wii in many countries and letting the public have a go at them. Their latest stop, was Spain where a Revogamers.net managed to snap lots of photos of the event and a few videos as well. You definitely need to take a look at the photos, as they show some closeups that very few people managed to take. The most interesting photo, which wasn’t covered at E3, was the sensor that Nintendo uses to detect the field where the Wii’s controller works. A comparison shot is shown above, however we don’t know how close the pen is to the sensor, so we can’t really grasp the size. But, assuming the pen is directly under the sensor, I think it does look quite nice, though it may not be very discrete with some TV sets.

Video of Leopard?

leopard video

This is more ‘realistic’ than the simple screenshots we last heard about eariler. Not only does this show actual cursor movement and the use of the interface, but it shows us that legendary about box; though even that may not add up to much as that can easily be modified using a .plist file. I honestly think that I think this video is fake, why? For one, this solely centres on tabbed browsing in Finder, which if added wouldn’t be that big of a deal, and certainly not what Apple would classify as the main feature of Leopard. Secondly, the video is quite short and doesn’t seem to show anything else. If someone got their hands on a copy, wouldn’t they show us the most new and exciting features of the OS, not the tabbed browsing which can actually be done with a GUI modifier like UNO. Sorry to tell you guys, but I think the screenshots have more merit than this (which are fake).
I have a mirror of the video here, as the original link went down. It was hosted on a free Box.net account which ran out of Bandwidth. You can check out the original post, which was again, posted on a blogger account using the link below.
