Smashed Xbox 360

From the people who brought you Smash My iPod they now bring you SmashMyXbox.com. People have donated money from all corners of the world to see the latest Xbox 360 getting smashed in front of people. They have photos and a video on their page showing how they went out and waited to get a 360. They also bought a huge mallet to smash it to pieces with. Then in front of a couple of people they threw the thing on the floor and smashed the hell out of it. Since they came out with their smashing of the iPod i had changed my mind. If people donate money to something they want to see then why not smash it to pieces. It makes great fun and the money isn’t wasted because people donated because they wanted to see it. I will now leave you with the link to the website. Look at the pictures and most importantly the video, I’m sure you will get at least a chuckle.

Counterfeiter sends printer to repair with money inside

Money!!!

I saw this on Engadget and I had to laugh. So these guys were printing fake dollars and their printer crashes. The money is jammed in so they send it off to be repaired but they didn’t remove the money jammed inside. So they got busted for printing $160 000 of money in Arizona. Now those are criminals who are stupidly dumb. Reminds me of the stuff I see on ‘America’s Dumbest Criminals’.

Terror threats to a school by 2 students on MySpace

If you haven’t heard of MySpace before, it is simple a website where you have your own profile and you can add friends and chat with them. The latest news has shocked a lot of people.

“About mid morning today we were able to confirm that the web site ‘MySpace-dot-com’ allowed several students to post threatening messages on it’s web site, messages threatening Warren High School,” Pascual Gonzales of the Northside School District said. “This message said two boys were planning to show up at school with guns.”

This is really amazing. I never thought that someone would use MySpace for such a thing. It scared the students so much that only 400 out of 3000 students attended school on the day. I know I wouldn’t go to this school, but no-one would dare do such thing at our school. They could make threats but they woudln’t carry them out. The students who, for legal reasons, can’t be named will “face felony charges, including making terroristic threats and disruption of a high school campus“. The school may also wants to file a lawsuit against MySpace for letting this happen.

It just seems to me that if you put up a public web site, and you allow students, teeangers, minors to post their thoughts and ideas, and not monitor it in an adult manner, you are asking for trouble,” Gonzales said. “This particular web site has been a pain for all Bexar County schools for a long time now, and it just seems that the owners of MySpace-dot-com should be held accountable.”

I understand the threats being made, but I don’t see why they would sue MySpace. With so many people signed up, it would be near impssible to monitor the content on it. But MySpace did take of the content at noon (the day the attack was suppossed to happen). MySpace just need to take it off as soon as they are alerted. If the lawyers can come up with a way to monitor the postings on MySpace quickly and easily, then the lawsuit would be fine. But there are many sites like MySpace, and it was picked because it is the most popular. A lot of people have it in my school, including me, so I can see why it was picked. It would attract the most attention, but consequently it would take longer for the ‘posting’ to be taken off.

Really Cool PSP Advert

Advert Screenshot

This is a really cool PSP advert made by tech video and film directors Chris Cunningham (Aphex Twin/Bjork/Squarepusher/and other videos) and Alex Rutterford(Autechre/Amon Tobin/Radiohead videos) It has the PSP icons (you know, those red ones also on the menu – videos, games, music etc) all clumped up together as a mechanical robot sort of thing. It is really hard to describe it, just go see it for yourself.

Death by Caffeine

My Result - Death by Iced Tea

How much of your favorite caffeinated drink would it take to kill you? Take the test here to find out.
It would take 144.06 cups of Iced Tea to kill me. But I wouldn’t drink that much in one go anyway. There is no way I could do that.

Berlin artists use parasitic Mac Mini in the Subway

Image taken from videoclip

A group of artists in Berlin have released a movie of a suction cup equipped suitcase which contains a Mac mini, a digital projector, and a battery power supply. They stuck the suitcase on the side of the subway and projected images in the subway tunnels as the train was moving. Are they crazy? Perhaps.

This seems very weird but it would also be cool to see. You can download the video here (QuickTime .mov – 34.9 MB)

Stealing lunch from Google

Google Logo

I didn’t know that Google offered free lunch for all its employees, and it’s not crap food either. “It’s a lavish affair, with many different types of high quality food, drinks, desert, etc.” It sounds a lot better than the industrial slop they feed us at school (it isn’t that bad, really). People have been finding this out and sneaking into Google’s canteen to steal food. If you go through the main entrance you have to get past security, be tagged and have someone follow you around. But if you can slip past parking security than you can wander into the canteen where they don’t ask you for any ID. Cool.

Like much on TechCrunch, this is pure rumor. But I’ve heard from multiple independent sources that non-Google employees are making a game out of getting onto the Google campus, without an escort, and eating a free lunch, often taking a second lunch “to-go” for dinner. These people are keeping score to see who can eat the most free, unescorted lunches at Google. And specifically, my understanding is that many or all of these people are Yahoo employees. Yahoo HQ is right down the freeway, a very short drive away.

Interesting. They should make all Yahoo employees pay a huge fine because they work for Yahoo ;) . I would love to work at Google and not have to pay for food. I’m sure most people would. This is just another step Google is taking to take over the world…

SmashMyiPod.com releases their video

Guy stomping the iPod with his shoe

This is truly horrifying ;) . I previously mentioned a site, SmashMyiPod.com, which is “dedicated in raising $400 to buy and iPod and destroy it inside the Apple Store they bought it from“. I was bit skeptic seeing the early photos which looked like they weren’t taken inside the Apple Store. Now I know why, they were chucked out from the Apple Store after their little ‘demo’. The video shows the guy walking in a buying the iPod, then his friend walks up, throws it to the ground and starts stomping on it with his foot. After they get chucked from the Apple Store they get a sledgehammer and batter the iPod to pieces. A few photos then follow showing the smashed iPod. Watch the video for yourself here.
It looks like they weren’t cheating on people with buying a 4G iPod as the video looks legit. But they did say they raised more money than they needed, which they probably kept themselves. Anyway the video is still fun and scary to watch :) .
