Contest!

I originally had a small blog on blogger just as a hobby, but over the past 1 and a half years it has really progressed. I’m getting much more readers now, and people are actually commenting on my posts. The domain theminiblog.co.uk was bought around mid-September of last year, and I wanted to do a contest to celebrate, but I forgot about it. So here is the contest, albeit a bit late.

The winner receives either a £15 iTunes Music Store Certificate (UK only!), or a £10 via PayPal. It may not be much, but as a 16 year old student, it’s the best I can do. To apply, all you have to do is leave a comment in the comments of this post, with your thoughts about the blog. You don’t need to write much at all, but make sure you use a real email in the form (will not be displayed) and tell me where you are from, so that if you win I can contact you appropriately. The rules are:

  • Only one entry per person; a person found to have multiple entries will be banned from this contest and all future contests.
  • Contest is open to international participants as well, but those outside of the UK will have to opt for the £10 by paypal.
  • The winner will be randomly drawn on December 2nd, so you have more than a month to apply.
  • This contest excludes familial relatives to me (Balazs) and those who know me personally. Sorry!

If you don’t have a paypal account, and would like the £10, don’t worry, it is very easy to set up an account, and very safe! That’s about it, and good luck to all.

  • I stumbled onto your blog a month ago when searching for news on the Wii. I thought the interface and design was slick, so I took a look at some of the other articles and liked what I saw. I find it tougher to keep up on tech news (especially in the vein of Macs and Nintendo, neither of which I am overly familiar with), so this place has really been a boon for me. Keep up the good work :)

  • I have actually just wandered here inadvertantly, but spent a good amount of time reading some of your posts. You’ll definitely be seeing me comment here and there in the future…

  • Well I’ll probably be disqualified since I actually know the author in person. (Whoo Hi Balazs!)

I’ve been subscribed since he started it and it’s a pretty good place for all your Mac and related geekery needs, even if I do think the design could do with some work. :) Being a designer I’m allowed to say that. Muhaha.

*Just read it’s a random draw. Wow that means I have a chance! Woo! Don’t think that’s the best way to choose for this sort of contest.
I think you should give it to whoever has the best story about this blog changing their life in some amazing and completely implausible way.

I’d have my own contest, but I have no money to spare. Gunna go buy m’self a 360 this saturday. Then I’ll just have to wait the umpteen months ’till Mass Effect and Fable 2 come out.

  • Sorry to say Ben, but you are disqualified. I forgot to mention that, though it is a random draw, only those can enter, who are not related to me or know me personally. Sorry! I would make a contest like that, but I really wouldn’t be able to decide who wins, and I don’t think as manyt people would enter! I, myself, would find it easier to enter a contest where I don’t need to excessively describe much.

  • I just found your blog via TUAW, I’ve been looking for a guide to cleaning the keyboard on and off for a while now, so thanks!

Now I’m here I’ll stop and look around…I would come back and tell you what I think, but more than one post would disqualify me from the comp ;-)

Hang on, I’ve just scrolled back up and read that you’re a student, so now I’d feel bad taking money off you if I won.

Tell you what, if I win, donate the tenner to Children in Need, which happens to be on telly as I’m typing this.

  • It’s really good to find a fellow Brit who ‘gets’ blogging and podcasting, and a Mac user to boot – I think we’re in a minority compared to our American chums.

  • Just read the article on cleaning a mac keyboard. Very nice. I new to mac and any information I can find such as this is very helpful. Keep up the good work there.

  • Hey I ran into your blog via popular at del.icio.us for your post on Cleaning an Apple Keyboard. This site looks interesting. I like the links at the top. I’m new to wordpress and haven’t seen that done yet. Nice touch. Keep up the cool reviews.
